Free WSO2 SOA Summer School Offers Class on Building Business Processes into SOAs

Webinar-based training on July 1, 2010 offers best practices for enabling IT and business user collaboration via business process management, analysis and monitoring

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, June 28, 2010 /Software PR News/ -- A service-oriented architecture (SOA) provides a powerful and flexible approach for managing business processes throughout the enterprise--and in concert with partners and customers. However, as an SOA becomes the backbone for more of an enterprise's processes, it needs to enable IT and business users to collaborate more effectively in responding to changing business needs and conditions.

IT architects and developers can learn best practices for implementing business process management, analysis and monitoring within their SOAs by attending the interactive online class, "Business-Facing SOA," (http://wso2.org/training?soa062810). The three-hour session is being offered at no cost as part of the WSO2 SOA Summer School program. It will be held on Thursday, July 1, at 9:00 a.m. Pacific.

Leading the Business-Facing SOA class is Samisa Abeysinghe, WSO2 vice president of engineering (http://wso2.com/about/leadership/samisa-abeysinghe?soa062810). He will discuss and demonstrate proven approaches for composing business process services and then orchestrating and monitoring them within an SOA. The session also will look at how to implement a feedback cycle to ensure continuous improvement of an enterprise's business processes. Additionally, attendees will learn state-of-the-art techniques for visualizing data and using analytics, business intelligence and key performance indicator (KPI) tracking to help make timely decisions. A look at business-facing technologies within an SOA will include business process management systems (BPMS), portals, and business activity monitoring (BAM).
