Configure One Turns Up the Heat On Gaumer's Quote-to-Order Process
Industrial heating company chooses product configurator software to automate configuration and quotation process
OAK BROOK, IL, September 02, 2010 /Software PR News/ -- Configure One , a leading provider of web-based product configurator and electronic catalog software, today announced that Gaumer Process—a major manufacturer of industrial process heating and control systems— selected Configure One's Concept Enterprise Product Configurator .
Gaumer's product line features custom designed heating systems for any application as well as more than 40,000 standard products manufactured at the company's headquarters in Houston, Texas.
Gaumer was looking for a way to replace a homegrown quoting system. Integration with Salesforce.com CRM was a key consideration.
"Currently, none of our systems work together," said Mark Crosby, Gaumer's vice-president of sales. "We were looking for a product configurator that would integrate with Salesforce.com, our CRM system. Configure One's integration to Salesforce.com will allow us to configure a product and generate a quote without having to re-key data."
Another important factor in the evaluation process was the ease by which Gaumer Process could create configuration rules.
"Configure One's training was very good," said Crosby. "The training was conducted at Configure One's headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois. After the training, we were able to start configuring products immediately, and that wasn't possible with other configurator products I've evaluated."
Gaumer Process plans to implement Concept within the next six months. "We expect that our configurations and quotes will be more accurate based on establishing configuration rules, and limiting the number of available options.
Gaumer's future plans include integrating Concept to SolidWorks to further streamline and automate their quote-to-order process.
"We originally met with Gaumer at SolidWorks 2010 User Conference and Exposition in February," said Chris DiEllo, Configure One's director of eastern region "Time and time again customers tell us that Configure One's ability to provide integration to their strategic business applications was a key factor in the selection process."
